Abs Project Back to the Future

Monday, August 23, 2010

Finally, I was able to resume jogging at the Mall of Asia grounds early morning yesterday. This is my first for the month of August.

And my abs project is back to the future I've imagined.

As I was alone, I decided to explore the entire by-the-bay esplanade. Walking the whole route was a good warm up in itself. Considering that it has been three weeks since my last jog, taking slowly will not strain my body.

When I reached my usual spot in the flags area, I jogged straightaway to the Bungee-Jumping-area never slowing my pace. Catching my breath for some seconds, I proceeded to walk back to the end.

Although I was only able to do 2 laps, I was glad with the way I sweated out. Before going home, I used the free equipment for some workout for my abs.

All in all it was a good jog/workout. I guess I'm back - for the future of my abs. ;)

No Jogging - Project On Hold

Friday, August 20, 2010

My abs project is practically on hold after I missed jogging for 3 consecutive Sundays.

Jogging is the centerpiece activity for this project of mine. But these three reasons listed below prevented from doing just that.

1. Sick bay
2 Rain
3 Alumni Event in Silang Cavite

I do not know why, but the previous two weeks seemed like busier than usual. In the few times that I had, I made up for that lack of jogging by lifting dumbells in our boarding house. In fact, my arm workout has already leveled up to 3 sets by 12 repetition.

But I am positive about the next two sundays of August. And yes, the project will push through!

Sunday Jog, TeamJACOB, Arm Weight Training Tips

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Had another Sunday jog by the Manila Bay at the Mall of Asia grounds just moments ago.

This time, we (me, apol & chips) had a new fitness recruit - fellow high school alumni, Rujohn.

Like me, Rujohn also have a fitness plan which he calls "I'm hotter than you, Papa P - teamjacob" project.

He was supposed to join us as early as last week but was probably detained by his bed (& partner) LOL!!!!

Anyway, as they are more advanced joggers, they jog the whole straight path alongside the bay. While I took my own jog route. This time I labored with a fourth lap and have no more energy to join the aerobics fun.

arm weight training
Back at home, I had some useful weight-training tips from gym-rat pals Rujohn& kuya apol. Rujohn introduce me to the idea of sets. He advised 3 sets of 10 repetitions on dumbells for my biceps & triceps every other day. I bargained for 8 repetitions. Kuya Apol demonstrated the proper form for tricep weight exercise. hehehe!!!

See, I really have no need to enroll at a total fitness gym! LOL!

I am now thinking of formalizing my daily workout. But I am still hesitant posting it here as I may not be able to religiously follow it. I'll see.

Jog-Walk & Aerobics Fun @ MOA

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Yes, I did it again today!

I was able to drag my big big ab out of bed, jog around Manila Bay at the Mall of Asia grounds, tried the free workout equipment installed there and an added bonus of some awkward aerobic/dance moves.

All accompanied by housemate Apol.

jogging at the Manila Bay in the Mall of Asia Grounds

Today's jog session had some tiny progress as I was able to complete 2 straight jogging laps - from the flagposts to the bungee jumping area at the MOA grounds. (Last week was 1 1/2 with walking)

Kuya Apol, surprisingly joined me today, and convinced me to participate in the aerobics session. My awkward difficulty in doing the steps to the tune of itaktak mo had me laughing no end. While I think that it did not help shed a pound one bit, it was fun. Hope I will always have someone with to try it out. LOL!

Blogging this now, I find myself grinning at the thought that this project is really, really on its way. I even did some barbells for my biceps.

Go doms!

Beautiful Sunday for A Morning Jog at Manila Bay in the Mall of Asia Grounds

Monday, July 5, 2010

Today is the first Sunday of July. Sundays being off-work days are good enough reason to stay longer in bed to sleep. Not for me for today.

I was up early, even earlier than the sunrisse because me and my housemates planned to jog around the SM Mall of Asia grounds.

I was really, really excited and thankful for a beautiful Sunday morning perfect for jogging.

Honestly, jogging does not appeal to me but I admit that this form of exercise can do wonders for my current fixation - having a better-looking mid-section. When I brought up the idea a few days ago, Chippy and Apol agreed to join in.

As I tried waking them today, only Chippy was able to give up the enticing call of her bed, even bringing her Tennis gear for the added effect.

A short walk going to the SM Mall of Asia jogging area provided a perfect warm-up. Upon reaching the sea wall, overlooking Manila Bay, we separated and I started to jog. One lap from the front of SMX building up the bungee jumping area had me gasping for air and half-walk, half jog on the return lap. Passing through the hotdog stand almost made me stop and grab a quick bite.

Seeing all those people - jogging, walking, exercising or simple spending time with families - is a welcome sight. 'wished I'd brought a cam or just my CP, for photos I can post here.

After that go-around, I tried the work-out equipment set up in the MOA grounds. I wanted to do another lap but I don't want to push my sedantary-accustomed body. So, I looked out for Chippy to head back for home.

Beautiful Day indeed. Good addition to the things I can do to reach my goal.
